French Door Threshold – First, insert the new threshold on a piece of 1/4-inch hardboard. Line up one of the thresholds long sides with hardboard side. Cut fiber plates to the same width as the threshold. Cut the template to about 6 inches long. Second, place the template against one of Andersen’s French door jambs, in the same position threshold will be mounted. Open the scribe tool to span the distance, so tracking tool along Andersen French door’s frame to mark the outline of the template.
Third, cut the template along the scribe lines. Test the template against the side sill and submit it with a saw rasp as necessary until it fits snugly. Fourth, dimensions French door opening width and add 1/16 inch.Fifth, place the template on one of the new french door threshold end. Trace along the template for transferring Andersen French door’s frame contour to the threshold. Turn the template over to create a mirror image and put it on the eve’s other end. Trace around the template to transfer the outlines for this purpose.
Sixth, cut the new french door threshold along the contours of a puzzle. Close Andersen French doors and check for rubbing. 7th, add the new threshold downwards. Place a tube of silicone caulk in a caulk gun and remove the head with a utility knife. Squeeze the two beads of caulk along the down threshold. Mount the threshold back into the door opening. Last, run a screw – either 1/2-inch or 1-inch-dependent threshold thickness – through each pilot hole.
