Chevron Bedding – I have used crochet hook no. 4, but it depends of course on the yarn and the fluffy you want your bedding. Make any a small bedding if you have any doubts. Turn 148 air sts + 3 to turn with (each row with three air masks).
The chevron bedding pattern is done as follows: Single crochet (dc) in the 3rd stitch from the needle. 1 dc in each of the next 5 stitches. Start to a dc, but stop halfway (ie with 2 loops on hook) and then start a new dc in next stitch. Stop halfway again and start a new dc in next stitch. At the end of this dc fed yarn through all loops on hook. Making the downward spikes in the pattern.- 1 dc in each of the next 5 stitches. 3 dc in the same stitch. Continue pattern from star to star. At the end of row crochet two dc in last st and turning with 3 air masks.
Color shifts are you doing of chevron bedding at the last pull-through of the yarn at the last dc on the row is with a new color. Just let the yarn against the edge, so there is less stapler work eventually. Close fit with the pattern and the carpet is the desired length. The edge is two turns solid masks (2 stitches in the last and first mask in the corners) and finally a game of chain stitches to give a more dense and durable finish.
